Since Let It Be was The Beatles last album, it made an appropriate statement about leaving problems behind and moving on in life. The album was supposed to convey an entirely different message. It was going to be called "Get Back," and they were going to record it in front of an audience on live TV, with another TV special showing them practicing the songs in the studio. It was going to be The Beatles getting back to their roots and playing unadorned live music instead of struggling in the studio 
Paul McCartney wrote this song. It was inspired by his mother, Mary, who died when he was 14. Many people thought "Mother Mary" was a biblical reference when they heard it.  It was recorded in Januaryxxxx, before the recording and release of the album Abbey Road.
LET IT BE  is the 12th and final studio album released by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on 8 May xxxx by the band's Apple Records label shortly after the group announced their break-up.
The album was created by Phil Spector in xxxx and released as Let It Be, serving as the album for the xxxx motion picture of the same name. While three songs from the sessions were released as singles before the album's release, "Get Back"/"Don't Let Me Down" and "Let It Be", the songs were remixed by Spector for the album and "Don't Let Me Down" was not included.
The album was ranked number 86 in the Rolling Stone's magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in xxxx.[3]
